A New Bikini & Art #Giveaway

img_7404

Back in July, I decided I needed a new bikini, so I went to Target.

While in the changing area, I met a woman who was also trying on bathing suits. We discussed how short the swimsuit season is here in Upstate, New York and commiserated over our perceived physical imperfections. You know, all the things that make women feel uncomfortable about wearing bikinis.

Somehow, we got to talking about what we each did for a living.

“I’m not just a professional bikini model,” I joked. “I’m also a teacher. And an artist.”

“I’m a graphic designer,” she said. “And my husband is a web designer.”

Standing in next to nothing, Katie Hunt and I exchanged phone numbers, and a friendship was forged.

For the next three months, I worked with Katie and her husband David of Bleu Bird Studio, here in Rochester, New York. We had many conversations about my artistic vision. We discussed what the pages would look like, and how each page would function. As you can imagine, I was terrified that all my blog content would be lost, but Dave was confident that there wouldn’t be any issues, and — of course — he was completely right. Everything exported to the new site seamlessly.

Dave spent over 30 hours working on my site, and Katie helped me to retool my new logo – which is simple, yet stylized. The two offer free technical support for the first year that my website is up and running, and Dave seems to enjoy reporting on my analytics.

I encourage anyone who has been considering creating a website to contact the folks at Bleu Bird.

Meanwhile, if you would like to check out my website and offer any kind of feedback, I would be grateful. I really want the online shopping experience to be an easy one for buyers. What do you like about my website? What do you not like? Any comments of suggestions?

I don’t have much to offer, but I’d like to offer something. First, if you place an order of $50 or more before December 10th, I’m offering free shipping & handling to anywhere within the continental United States, a $10 value.

And…

I haven’t done a giveaway in a long time, but I’d like to do one now.

  1. …leave me a comment about an invisible obstacle that you’ve have to deal with during your time on this planet.

What a GREAT question Renee! My “invisible obstacle”? The proclamations of too many others that we and myself live/exist strictly in or enslaved to a Starvation Economy of love and intimacy! What they REALLY mean is a Fear Economy, because the reality is we live/exist — and should be enslaved to an Abundance Economy! Everyone has a much greater capacity to love more, be more intimate, and more impactful in other’s lives than they’ve actually ever tried… which by the way, makes yourself more filled, wiser, stronger, and more whole in/with life! 😀 <3

Tweeting this post right away Renee!

P.S. Renee, you look FABULOUS in that swimsuit and could easily be a swimsuit model! 😉 <3

    1. Hi Professor.

So nice of you to continue to come around these parts. I hope that I’ll be able to rebuild my once thriving readership now that I’ve got things to be excited about again. I’m working on practicing Abundant Thinking. It is definitely NOT a philosophy I was ever taught in my youth, but now I can easily see how Scarcity Thinking self-perpetuates itself.

Oh, and thanks for the kind words about my bikini. Please note: it is only the top. My rack is still holding up, and that’s something for which to be grateful. 🙂

      1. Mmm, a very excellent reversion Renee! You’re spot on my Lady! 🙂

On your last paragraph/opinion, Woman… I could not disagree more! I’ve SEEN your FB and Instagram pics and… well, lets just say again, you are a stunning sight to behold! And since I’ve spoken with you (albeit briefly) 3-4 times now… since Jan. 2013, you have an even more stunning big heart & witty, crafty brain to go with it all. THAT makes you very dangerous! 😉 Haha

    1. I actually add on 5 years and say that I’m 54…because, you know, I look great for 54. I never understood people who subtract years. It’s ludicrous and they aren’t fooling anyone. And yes, we need to have that phone conversation. It will happen. I promise. Be patient with me, this website has been taking up a lot of my energy these days. And I’ll let you in on a secret. Shhhhh. I’m working on a new book. And this time, I have it backed up.

  2. I think everyone has invisible obstacles. You are just more spiritually evolved and awake than most which shows in your incredible art. I fight battles no one knows about every day

    1. Dear Ken: Thank you for your thoughtful comment. You are truly one of the most complicated men I’ve ever met. Good thing I like complicated, huh?

    1. Hi Adrienne! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment. There are a bunch of kinks that need to be worked out. I’m glad you didn’t find the process to be tedious. Next time, your post should be moderated right through. At least, that’s what my tech guy tells me.

  3. You look terrific. I, like many men, am dealing with the invisible, but incredibly confusing and powerful, psyche of a certain woman who has been driving me crazy.
    Is the print for sale?

    1. Hi Bill. Yes, our emotions really are confusing, aren’t they?

As far as the print goes, it is absolutely for sale (just $25) but if you’d like a chance to win it, consider yourself entered.

I’m curious, how did you find me?

        1. Gotcha. I used to be a pretty big blogger — and then I had a brain injury. I was a mess! 3.5 years later, I appear as though I’m fully healed, but I feel really different. It was very traumatic. My marriage ended. I’m rebuilding everything now, including my readership. I used to be a big writer. Now I’m more of a painter/artist than a writer. Did you see my website? Where are you located?

    1. Thanks Dave. Hey, is there a way to change my name on the comments so they appear to be coming from rasjacobson? I’m trying to keep everything unified.

  4. I reached this website, no problem. I am on my laptop. You know what I deal with, so I do not have to make it public. The page looks great. Love you

    1. Hey girl. You were among the very first friends to follow me from facebook to my first blog and you are among the first to follow me here. You are one of the most loyal friends I’ve ever had. You have NO idea how much I appreciate you in my life. Hey, do you think we can actually get together in 2017? I’d like to set that as an intention for this year. What do you think?

  5. My invisible obstacle has always been my belief that I can’t really do, have, or deserve what I want. As soon as I start gaining momentum on hard things I’m trying to accomplish, I self implode. So I guess it’s fear of failure.

    1. Michelle! Thank you for the thoughtful response. You deserve the best! You are such an inspiration to me! And consider yourself entered to win this print! XO
