The story of Esther is a famous one: an orphan girl from no means finds favor with the King and ultimately saves her people from mass genocide. Esther exemplifies courage and integrity while trusting in God to protect and provide for her. We are, each of us, called to do exactly that: to give up control and trust in a Higher Power. While we may not always understand our purpose in the big picture, we are called to “be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and constant in prayer” (Romans 12:12). During COVID19, we are certainly all feeling afflicted, but I understand that the moment for which each of us has been created is right before us.
