(05/15/26) MAY WOMEN’S WORKSHOP • SWiTCH-iT-UP FLORAL PAiNT & PASS
$30.00
This month, we will take inspiration from Mother Nature, as we head into the studio to work collaboratively to create individual works of art inspired by a real life floral bouquet — and our imagination. Participants will trade art every 2-3 minutes in a a type of “round-robin” art making. Each person will start a canvas, then pass it along to the next person who adds to it for a set time before passing it along again. This method is popular for its spontaneity, as each person must react to the previous artist’s work, leading to unexpected & unique creations.
- Setup: Each person starts with a blank canvas and a set amount of time (e.g., 2-3 minutes) to paint.
- Painting: Participants will build on what the previous person has added, without erasing or covering it entirely.
- Swapping: When the timer goes off, everyone swaps their canvas with the person next to them.
- Repeat: This process repeats for a set number of rounds, allowing each person to contribute to several different pieces.
- Completion: The activity ends when everyone has had a chance to work on each canvas & the original owner gets their painting back.
- Spontaneity: The time limit encourages quick, instinctive decisions rather than overthinking.
- Collaboration: It’s a way to create something together, even with artists of different skill levels.
- Bonding: Collaborative art projects can be a fun activity for friends, families, or groups.
