It’s About Social Action!
Unless you’ve been living under a rock this week, you probably know that I made the cover of Rochester Magazine. The article was beautifully reported by journalist Sandra Parker and photographed/videoed by Jamie Germano.
In case you’ve missed it, you can read the story & watch the video HERE.
Also this Friday, I will be participating in Art for Action – a building wide initiative at The Hungerford Building, where individual studios are supporting different non-for-profit organizations.
On May 4th, 100% of my proceeds will go to WILLOW, a local agency that supports survivors of domestic abuse.🌸 (Not long ago, I found myself in need of their services, and I’m so very glad they were there.) Please bring your sample-sized toiletries & monetary donations to Studio 254 to The Hungerford between 5-9pm.
I’m also offering limited edition #METOO posters for a $5 donation, with all proceeds to go to WILLOW.
Hope to see a bunch of you there!

Glad I clicked over here! Love the image, and would love to get one, because… me too. <3 Do you ship? If so, let me know, and I'll totally send over my donation plus shipping!!!
Hi Sidny! The #metoo poster is $10 shipped and all the proceeds go to WILLOW. I’d love to send one to you. You can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I’ll invoice you and get it out to you ASAP…plus a little sumpthin’ extra, too! Thank you for coming over this way and for being so positive!
Congrats on the magazine cover. And that’s awesome you’re donating proceeds to what sounds like a fantastic place.
Thank you so much, Lauren. I really appreciate your kind words. 🙂
I thought your story was compelling. I loved every word and somehow I can understand a little of what you went through. I have been on Ativan for years to help me sleep, but I am still afraid to give it up along with various pain medications that I have to take. MAYBE I shouldn’t say “have to”, but I am afraid of the pain if I do. You make one think about their own demons. THank you so much for your insight.
Yes, our demons. Well, I have many. right now, I’m tackling a big one which involves spending money/investing in myself. I am soooo paralyzed in this area that I’ve actually asked to have an energy clearing because I just can’t seem to move forward in this area. I know that I need to spend money to make money, but it’s just so hard for me to believe that I’ll ever be able to make good on my investments. i KNOW that tis is the wrong way to think, but it lives in me. Oh, to believe in me the way you believe in me, Sandra.
This sounds like an amazing organization, and it’s wonderful that you’re able to give back. Congratulations on the magazine. Awareness and action are everything.
Hi Shann. Thank you for jumping over here to say hi and leave a comment. I’m really grateful. 🙂
Congrats on the magazine cover! That is awesome!
Hi Beth. I’m definitely enjoying my 15 minutes of fame…but I think they expired tonight around 3 PM. 😉
Thanks Steve! How nice to hear from you!
